Animal Health/Pharmaceuticals
ACC&D was formed to facilitate development of non-surgical contraceptive tools for pet population control. Following human health models such as the Population Council and Cure Autism Now, ACC&D aims to fill critical gaps in new product development.
In the article entitled “Why Nonprofits Fund For-Profit Companies Doing Drug Research,” the Wall Street Journal discusses the increasing occurrence of public/private partnerships to hasten development of critically needed pharmaceuticals. ACC&D is eager to explore partnerships in which we can complement the abilities and interests of animal health efforts by contributing funding, critical information, and other support. With directors and advisors who are experts in animal health, pharmaceutical development, contraception, animal welfare, pet population control, and fundraising, ACC&D is able to assess new approaches with a balanced and realistic perspective.
By forming strategic partnerships with holders of promising approaches, ACC&D can bring valuable resources to facilitate the development, regulatory approval, marketing and distribution process.
ACC&D has connections to scientists working on these approaches around the world, giving us access to some of the most advanced research in this area. Additionally, we have a strong animal welfare base and are consequently in a position to prepare markets, facilitate product introduction, and potentially guarantee sale of a large number of doses. Non-surgical contraceptives have an enormous potential market, including pet owners, and animal welfare organizations in the U.S. and abroad. We are also working to draw funding to early and middle stage research and development, reducing the financial risk to pharmaceutical companies.
ACC&D welcomes inquiries from pharmaceutical companies interested in the field of non-surgical cat and dog contraception. You can reach us at info@acc-d.org or (503) 358-1438.
