Support ACC&D with a Qualified Charitable Distribution from your IRA

Satisfy your required minimum distributions (RMD) and optimize your tax benefits while helping ACC&D prepare for the future of non-surgical fertility control for cats and dogs.

What is a Qualified Charitable Distribution?

A Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) allows you to make a tax-free charitable donation directly from your Individual Retirement Account (IRA) to a qualified charity, such as ACC&D.

Because your gift goes directly from your IRA to ACC&D, the amount you donate may satisfy all or part of your annual required minimum distribution (RMD) and may be excluded from your taxable income, subject to applicable IRS limits and requirements.

Please consult your tax advisor regarding your individual circumstances and any specific exceptions. To learn more about QCDs, visit the IRS. gov link below.

When can you make a Qualified Charitable Distribution?

Once you reach age 70½ or older, are a resident of the US, and have an eligible IRA, you can make a QCD. You can still make QCDs before the age limit required to take minimum distributions from your retirement assets (pre-Required Minimum Distribution QCDs). This will not decrease or affect your future required minimum distributions.

If you are required to take money from your IRA but do not need it for your living expenses, you may choose to make a QCD to support ACC&D’s work. Bear in mind that the IRS does not allow you to make any charitable contributions from workplace retirement plans, such as a 401(k). It is best to speak to your tax advisor regarding additional information on your particular situation. To learn more about eligibility, click on the IRS.gov link below.

How can you make a Qualified Charitable Distribution to ACC&D?

Your QCD must be made directly from your IRA trustee or custodian to ACC&D on your behalf. Financial institutions may have specific forms, procedures, and requirements for processing QCDs. We recommend consulting your tax advisor and following your financial institution’s procedures carefully to help ensure that your distribution meets applicable IRS requirements and that you receive any tax benefits for which you may be eligible.

If you prefer, you can download and complete our IRA QCD initiation form below. Send the completed form to your IRA trustee, who will complete your distribution. Please make sure to fill in the gift designation field and communicate it to the custodian to ensure your donation is allocated correctly

How will ACC&D use my gift?

Your IRA QCD will support ACC&D’s work to advance non-surgical fertility control for cats and dogs and increase access to these humane solutions worldwide. Whether you designate your gift to a specific project or allow ACC&D to use it where it is most needed, your generosity will help make a significant difference for the welfare of animals and communities around the world.

Different Ways to Support ACC&D

If a QCD is not right for you at this time, please consider one of the many other ways you can support our mission to advance non-surgical fertility control for cats and dogs and increase global accesibility.
