Mark R. Prausnitz is Regents’ Professor, Regents' Entrepreneur and J. Erskine Love, Jr. Chair in Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, GA. He carries out research on novel drug delivery systems using microneedles, lasers, ionic liquids and other microdevices. He has published more than 370 journal articles, invented more than 80 US patents, was elected to the National Academy of Medicine, National Academy of Engineering, and National Academy of Inventors, and has co-founded 10 start-up companies including Micron Biomedical, Clearside Biomedical and Alys Pharmaceutical.
